Sochi Style: Which Country Looks Best?

The Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia are officially underway.  The athletes are gorgeous and the competition is fierce, but we are really excited about the fashion!  As usual, the U.S.A. delegation wore some fabulously Patriotic gear designed by legendary American designer Ralph Lauren.  The signature piece of the collection is undoubtedly the over-the-top sweater blazers worn by the athletes during the opening ceremony.  Our athletes looked fabulous and they certainly made a memorable entrance in the march of the countries!!

Many of the Ralph Lauren pieces are sold out, but thankfully some are still available.  We particularly love the scarf because it is a reasonable price for a 100% wool RL scarf and it's versatile and wearable for many winters to come!

The Team USA belt is also a great fashion choice.  At $75, it won't break the bank but you can still show your support for our wonderful American athletes!  Plus, it has an understated RL elegance that translates well to many different styles.  You could wear this belt with jeans, but it would look totally chic in the summer with a white dress and a denim jacket.

Ralph Lauren wasn't the only company outfitting U.S. athletes.  For the third consecutive Winter Olympics, Burton created official gear for the U.S. Snowboarding team.  This year's uniforms features tea-washed snowboarding jackets in a patchwork design, reminiscent of an antique Americana yard-sale quilt.  They were fabulous!  Unfortunately, Burton did not release any quantity of these uber-stylish official snowboarding jackets for purchase.

If you're looking for a sports-themed movie to get you in the mood for watching the Olympics, look no further than 1969's "Downhill Racer" -- It has a young Robert Redford looking perfect, sassy Gene Hackman, and breathtaking Alpine scenery!  **Spoiler Alert: Bobby wins the Gold!**
