Another great collaboration between affordability and high fashion! The latest collection brings together London phenomenon Peter Pilotto with Target. The collection hit stores at the beginning of February and it is totally flying off the shelves. If you are familiar with Peter Pilotto, then you know that he specializes in bright colors and bold prints. Some of these items are potentially not appropriate for the Lady Lawyer at the office, but we found a few pieces that can definitely translate well to the workplace. The cool thing about the Peter Pilotto collection is that the pieces lend themselves to weekend wear as well.
This blouse would be great with a black pencil skirt and a blazer or one of the collection's more muted black and white skirts.
This dress would be appropriate for the office with tights, black pumps, and a blazer.
This blazer is hot! It would be fabulous with so many things in your lady lawyer wardrobe.
Beautiful blouse! I would wear this with a black pencil skirt or trousers.
The geometric print might be a bit much, but it can easily be toned down with a solid on top for an office-appropriate lady lawyer ensemble.
This is an easy and delicious lunch or dinner made with very few ingredients. It's very satisfying! We started with our homemade gluten free bread from our cookbook, but you can use your favorite store-bought bread if you prefer. In our version, we used a very high-quality store-bought Arrabiata pasta sauce, but you can make your own if you have a favorite recipe. This is a wonderful lunch for a lazy weekend day!
Begin by toasting your bread slices. Then, butter one side of the toast slices. Place the buttered toast slices, butter side down, on a heavy grill pan. Arrange thinly sliced cheese on top of the toast slices. You can use whatever type of cheese you like or have available. Mozzarella would be a traditional choice, but we used Cheddar and it was just as delicious! Monitor the toast slices while the cheese melts, making sure that the toast does not burn.
In another small saucepan, heat up the desired amount of pasta sauce.
Once the cheese has completely melted, transfer the toast slices to a serving plate. Arrange several meatballs on top of each slice and top with a generous dollop of pasta sauce. Sprinkle with fresh basil and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
The Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia are officially underway. The athletes are gorgeous and the competition is fierce, but we are really excited about the fashion! As usual, the U.S.A. delegation wore some fabulously Patriotic gear designed by legendary American designer Ralph Lauren. The signature piece of the collection is undoubtedly the over-the-top sweater blazers worn by the athletes during the opening ceremony. Our athletes looked fabulous and they certainly made a memorable entrance in the march of the countries!!
Many of the Ralph Lauren pieces are sold out, but thankfully some are still available. We particularly love the scarf because it is a reasonable price for a 100% wool RL scarf and it's versatile and wearable for many winters to come!
The Team USA belt is also a great fashion choice. At $75, it won't break the bank but you can still show your support for our wonderful American athletes! Plus, it has an understated RL elegance that translates well to many different styles. You could wear this belt with jeans, but it would look totally chic in the summer with a white dress and a denim jacket.
Ralph Lauren wasn't the only company outfitting U.S. athletes. For the third consecutive Winter Olympics, Burton created official gear for the U.S. Snowboarding team. This year's uniforms features tea-washed snowboarding jackets in a patchwork design, reminiscent of an antique Americana yard-sale quilt. They were fabulous! Unfortunately, Burton did not release any quantity of these uber-stylish official snowboarding jackets for purchase.
If you're looking for a sports-themed movie to get you in the mood for watching the Olympics, look no further than 1969's "Downhill Racer" -- It has a young Robert Redford looking perfect, sassy Gene Hackman, and breathtaking Alpine scenery! **Spoiler Alert: Bobby wins the Gold!**
